You walk outside in your jammies. You are greeted by a blustery cold day....scratch that we live in Oregon....rainy cold day! You reach into the mailbox to find a familiar handwritten bright envelope. You get those butterflies in your tummy, the holiday has begun! It warms my soul to start receiving holiday cards from our dear friends and family. Maybe your thoughts of holiday cards are not so warm and fuzzy? Maybe all you can think of is the stress of getting them done and sent off in a timely manner. Well we have some ideas to help you out!!!
First off compile a list of family and friends, coworkers and business contacts. Use this year after year, you only have to make your core list once. My mom always kept her list and if you didn't send a card for a few years you got the eraser! Next get yourself into see us for your photos (we still have spots open for our mini session that is coming up). We will give you the envelopes for your cards so you can start addressing while you anticipate the cards to arrive. Lastly, type a letter about you and what you have been doing this year! We talk about Lola a lot because who doesn't want to know about the little ones but if you have someone playing sports, graduating, traveling abroad or doing anything unique talk about it! If it's just the two of you, take a deep breathe and enjoy the peace at your house:) And then write about some silly outings you had this year.....remember that weird soup you tried or when you slipped and fell into the biggest puddle around! Ok so maybe those things only happen in my life but just write about what makes you smile as you reflect on the year!!! Print this letter stick it in the envelope, throw a stamp on it and your ready for the cards to arrive!
One last tip: a damp sponge is great for sealing the envelope!
